Review: First of all, I have to say that Zool is a good 2D platformer for PC and it deserves the respect it gets among the platformer fans, but I also have to say that I don't personally like this game. I don't like it, because I have played SEGA's great Sonic games before playing Zool for the first time - I didn't find it so fast, playable and addictive as Sonic. For example Sonic's levels are very varying and full of details. Zool's level-design tries to get to the same, but fails. The good thing is that Zool has nearly 20 levels, but the amount doesn't always cover the quality.

The character you control in Zool is a ninja, called Zool. And it is your duty to destroy evil forces controlling the world. *Cough* Sounds like a too used plot for me. Anyway, a sucky plot in a platformer doesn't matter as much as a bad plot in an adventure game.

For the beginners I suggest to choose the easiest difficulty level because Zool is not the easiest platformer around.
Like I said before Zool has nearly 20 levels and there are six different themes, for example a candy land and a music shop. Like in many other platformers, there are various power-ups available in the levels. However, it still doesn't change the fact that Zool's levels are pretty repetitive. The game also contains three hidden bonus games. However, I was unable to find any of those.

Zool's graphics, sounds and music are good, but overall the game is copying too much from console platformers and doesn't have enough own ideas. So I didn't like Zool that much, mostly because of Sega's great platformers. Give it a try anyway - I know people who really love this piece of platformer.
