Review: There should be more game developers like Blue Moon, which released this game as freeware. However, they don't provide support for it anymore. However, it's still good that companies remember their old games and release them as freeware.
Skyroads is a very addictive and original driving game, it's a remake from Blue Moon's older game called Kosmonaut. In this game you control a small spacecraft which travels in space on some sort of platforms (skyroads). These platforms are full of obstacles to avoid, that's why your spacecraft is able to jump. There are also different kind of platforms - some of them will accelerate your speed, some will crash your craft and others will reload your spacecrafts oxygen and fuel tanks. Different kind of platforms are marked with colors.

There are no enemies in this game, all you have to do is to reach the end of the level.
First levels are pretty easy, but the difficulty level raises pretty fast. And you have to try later levels many times before you're able to finish them. The good thing is that the game allows you to play the levels in the order you want, so if you're not able to complete one level you can move to the next one.
You don't also have to save your game or write down any passwords because the game shows which levels you have completed.

Skyroads can be controlled with keyboard, mouse or joystick. However, I have played it only with keyboard which works very well - controling with keyboard is fast and accurate.
The game's graphics are quite good - the elements are vectors but the spacecraft and backgrounds are bitmaps. Especially backgrounds are very nice.
The Sounds are pretty simple and music as well, but you can always switch to CD or MP3s when playing.

Skyroads is a addictive and original game with a great playability. Get it now.
