| TinySid is a handy Sid player. It emulated the Sid chip of the Commodore 64. As you might know thats the sound chip. TinySid is pretty good for playing sids but there are certain sid tunes out there it won't play. But it does most. It works with all the sid tunes on The Thing so if you want to know what they sound like then get TinySid quick. QUICK! VICE is one of the best emulators for the C64. At least that is my oppinion. It works with out problems in windows. Even windows XP. Its really easy to set the controlles so its no problem when your playing. VICE also has a feature wich lets you take a screenshot. Thats pretty handy for webmasters like me who are taking screenshots of games all the time. It is of course handy for anybody who wants to take a screenshots for any reason at all. This is definately the emulator for you if you want play C64 games. Or you could just buy a C64 and be done with it. :) They are still out there. Lots of them.

| The newest version of the famous Nesticle emulator. This version is made for DOS but it works fine at least under Windows 98 (This might depend on your hardware configuration). Probably the best thing in Nesticle its diverse - the emulator allows you to change many settings such as resolution, input device and ROM's timing. Nesticle contains also a debuger and a possibility to create your own NES movies. And of course it allows you to save your game. The emulator is also very stable. All the Nes games on The Thing are tested with Nesticle. An earlier version of the Nesticle. Nesticle 0.42 is more compatible with Windows than the newest version. The newest version probably starts under Windows but the sounds probably won't work with it. At least there were no sounds under Windows 2000 when using version 0.43, in 0.42 the sounds work without any problems. Nesticle 0.42 has also a multiplayer support with modem, IPX or TCP/IP so this is the right version for people who are interested playing NES games online. |
